President Erdoğan: We maintain our struggle both at the table and on the ground in line with the requirements of the new era
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the nation following the meeting of the Presidential Cabinet.
“TURKEY HAS IMPROVED ITS INFRASTRUCTURE IN EVERY FIELD”
Noting that Turkey continues to overcome every hardship thanks to the nation’s support and Allah’s aid and keeps advancing step by step towards its goals, President Erdoğan said: “There is now a Turkey which has improved its infrastructure in every field, has obtained the will and ability to exercise its sovereign rights, and is cognizant of its own realities and power.”
“WE ONLY WANT AND WORK TO PROTECT OUR OWN RIGHTS AND INTERESTS”
“We don’t have designs over anyone’s rights, lands, peace or prosperity,” underlined the President, and added: “We only want and work to protect our own rights and interests. In this spirit, we will never abstain from responding, with our legitimate power arising from the international law, to those who stand in our way with impositions. Whoever seeks to exclude us through faits accomplis in matters that could be resolved with negotiations and fair agreements should know that this will be the response they will face each and every time.”
“THE METHODS OF STRUGGLE AMONG STATES AND COMMUNITIES HAVE CHANGED ACROSS THE WORLD”
“We are well aware of the fact that the methods of struggle among states and communities have changed across the world,” said the President. “We maintain our struggle both at the table and on the ground in line with the requirements of the new era. We owe the gains we have achieved thus far to the fact that we display a national stance which we consolidate with methods of struggle befitting the concept of state. We will continue our march forward with the same understanding and perseverance.”
“MEMBERS OF THE CHRISTIAN WORLD CAN ALSO VISIT THE HAGIA SOPHIA”
As regards the reopening for worship of the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, President Erdoğan stated: “The Hagia Sophia, the apple of Istanbul’s eye which Mehmet the Conqueror converted to mosque in 1453 and which is one of symbols of the peak of our civilization, will from now on continue to serve our nation and the entire Islamic world as a place of worship. Besides Muslims, members of the Christian world can also visit it.”
