President Erdoğan: We might purchase 50 million more from China if we reach an agreement

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performed the Friday prayer at Hz. Ali Mosque in the Üsküdar district of İstanbul.

Answering reporters’ questions, President Erdoğan noted that the negotiations with Germany and Russia was still ongoing regarding the COVID-19 vaccines and said: “We might receive a second shipment from China. We might purchase 50 million more from China if we reach an agreement.”

SAUDI ARABIA’S JOINT EXERCISE WITH GREECE

In answer to a question about initiating diplomatic contact with Egypt, President Erdoğan highlighted the ongoing process of cooperation with Egypt in terms of intelligence, diplomacy and economy, and said: “There is no problem there. It might not be at the highest level but it is just a notch under. And of course we wish to continue this process with Egypt in a much stronger manner. If the intelligence, diplomatic and political talks yield results, we might carry this process forward. Because the Egyptian people and the Turkish people can by no means be separated. Surely you cannot place the Egyptian people together with the Greek people. We can never believe that the Greek people and the Egyptian people would be identical. Therefore we would like to see them at their proper place. Let me add one more thing; Saudi Arabia’s joint exercise with Greece has saddened us. We would not want to see Saudi Arabia make such a decision. Surely we will discuss it with the Saudi authorities. We think it should not have happened and should not be like this.”
