President Erdoğan: We now have a much stronger military education system

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the commencement and flag handover ceremony of the National Defence University Army War College.

“AUGUST 30 VICTORY WAS THE TURNING POINT OF THE NATIONAL STRUGGLE”

Underscoring that the August 30 Victory, which he stressed was the manifestation of our nation to protect its independence and future under the severest conditions, was the turning point of the National Struggle, President Erdoğan stated that this victory was crowned with the foundation of our Republic, and said: “I remember with grace and gratitude all who contributed this victory, first and foremost Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, the commander-in-chief of our militaries and the leader of our National Struggle.”

THE FIRST GRADUATES OF THE ARMY WAR COLLEGE

Drawing attention to the July 15 coup attempt, President Erdoğan pointed out that following the most treacherous coup attempt of Turkey’s history, the war colleges, institutes and academies that raised military personnel for the Turkish Armed Forces were re-founded within the National Defence University, and added: “Thanks be to Allah, the students, who started their education at the first grade of the National Defence University when it was first opened, have today graduated. When we implemented this reform, some spread disinformation and claimed that we severed the veins of the Turkish military. However, today we see that we now have a much stronger, much more capable and much better-equipped military education system, let alone severing the veins of the Turkish military.”
