President Erdoğan: We rush to the aid of the disadvantaged and oppressed across our region, from Somalia to Arakan, from Gaza to Yemen
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at a meeting of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in the OIC region.
“We as Turkey will eliminate the DAESH remnants, which were intentionally left behind, and the DAESH members, who were trained against our country,” President Erdoğan said, noting: “We will soon restore peace and safety east of Euphrates just as we did in other areas we have secured. To that end, we maintain talks with the powers that have a military presence in the field, first and foremost the U.S. and Russia.”
“RACIST ATTACKS TARGETING REFUGEES AND FOREIGNERS ARE ON THE RISE ACROSS EUROPE”
“Turkey is exerting immense efforts not only to root out terrorist organizations but also to alleviate the effects of the humanitarian crises caused by conflicts. We rush to the aid of the disadvantaged and oppressed across our region, from Somalia to Arakan, from Gaza to Yemen,” President Erdoğan underlined, further stressing that Turkey doesn’t discriminate anyone because of their religion, ethnicity, language or skin color while delivering aid to those in need.
Pointing out that many Western countries, which today lecture the world on democracy and civilization, otherize and exclude refugees and see them as the source of all problems, President Erdoğan said: “Western politicians contemplate coming to power through animosity against refugees. Racist attacks targeting refugees and foreigners are on the rise across Europe.”
Drawing attention to the lack of mercy and empathy, not the shortage of means and resources, as the underlying cause of most of the problems in today’s world, President Erdoğan stated: “The bodies of innocent infants that washed up on the shore, those images of famine and poverty are the visible side of the lack of mercy.”
