President Erdoğan: We successfully continue our fight against the global pandemic
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the nation following the video conference meeting of the Presidential Cabinet.
Drawing attention to Turkey’s success in the fight against the coronavirus, President Erdoğan said: “It has been two months since the first coronavirus case was identified on March 10. We are now going through a period in which the pandemic, no longer a merely medical issue, has prompted a quest for global restructuring. We, as the 83 million citizens, successfully continue our fight against the global pandemic. New cases and deaths as well as patients who are intubated or in intensive care are on the decline while recoveries and the tests we run are increasing exponentially. I offer my gratitude to each and every citizen of ours for their patience and efforts as well as for abiding by the rules.”
“IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME FOR THE WORLD TO DEFEAT THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC”
President Erdoğan stated: “The favorable picture we are currently faced with enables us to ease in a controlled manner the restrictions introduced during the pandemic and to take steps for normalization. However, as I noted last week, we have entered a new period in which we, along with the rest of the world, must lead our lives in compliance with certain rules. It is evident that it will take some time for the world to defeat the coronavirus pandemic.”
Highlighting the steps taken to ensure a more advantageous position for Turkey in the new global order that will emerge after the pandemic, President Erdoğan added: “We are determined to maintain our efforts to make our country stronger and more prosperous without any concession on our diligence for healthcare.”
