President Erdoğan: We support Moldova’s territorial integrity and stability
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with President Igor Dodon of Moldova at the Presidential Complex following their one-on-one and the meeting of the Turkey-Moldova High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
“WE SUPPORT MOLDOVA’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY AND STABILITY”
Stating that Turkey supports Moldova’s territorial integrity, stability, prosperity and development, President Erdoğan, wishing success to the Moldovan government formed in November, voiced his belief that the reform process in Moldova will gain momentum under President Dodon’s auspices and with the efforts of the government.
Recalling the establishment of the Turkey-Moldova High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council during his visit to Moldova last year, President Erdoğan said the 1st meeting of the Council was held today, and that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), which has realized over 400 projects, and other Turkish institutions always stand by the Moldovan people.
“WE EXPECT THE FETO-AFFILIATED SCHOOLS IN MOLDOVA TO BE HANDED OVER TO TURKISH MAARIF FOUNDATION”
Referring to the agreements signed between the two countries today, President Erdoğan continued: “Our strategic partnership is a reflection of the friendship between our countries and of the level our cooperation has reached. We see the signs of our strategic partnership in the area of defense cooperation as well.”
Further stressing that Moldova supports Turkey’s fight against FETO, particularly in terms of the extradition of FETO-affiliated individuals, President Erdoğan said Turkey expects the FETO-affiliated schools in Moldova to be handed over to Turkish Maarif Foundation, and that major steps can be taken with joint works of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of Moldova and Turkish Maarif Foundation.
Following the press conference, President Erdoğan hosted an official dinner in honor of President Dodon of Moldova at the Presidential Complex.
