President Erdoğan: We want a youth that seeks knowledge and wisdom
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Turkey Youth Foundation’s (TUGVA) 5th Youth Gathering in Diyarbakır.
“OUR YOUTH SHOULD NOT LEASE THEIR MINDS”
“We aim to pave the way for a youth that advocates what is good and beautiful in the world. We want to raise a youth in Turkey that always defends what is right and just,” President Erdoğan said. “We want a youth that reads, researches and questions regardless of their views, that does not lease their minds. We want a youth that does not pursue diplomas or careers but truly seeks knowledge and wisdom. Above all, we want a youth that places faith and morals at the center of their lives. We have been working day and night for that for 40 years.”
“I believe the youth can change, starting from Turkey, the entire world. You have greatly contributed to Turkey becoming a rising star not only in its region but also in the world,” President Erdoğan said.
“If Turkey is an example of using power for good, Israel is an example of the opposite of that. We want a world order where right makes might, not the other way around. That’s why we say ‘The world is bigger than 5’. That’s why we say ‘Al-Quds is our red line’,” President Erdoğan underscored.
“THE CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH TURKEY BUYS THE S-400 AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS ARE VERY CLEAR”
“As Turkey began to rise upon its feet, it found the opportunity to more loudly voice what is right,” President Erdoğan noted. “Those, who are disturbed by this fact, try to continue their affairs like they did in the old days.”
President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: “The U.S.’s attitude regarding the S-400s is another example of that. The circumstances under which Turkey buys the S-400 air defense systems and how it will use them are very clear. Everyone, well-versed on the matter, know that it has nothing to do with the NATO, the F-35 project or the U.S.’s security. Then why are they pressing our country so loutishly about the S-400s despite these facts? Because, it is about something else. It is not because of the S-400s. It is because Turkey acts on its own will about the developments in the region, particularly Syria.”
“Turkey has embarked on this path for its freedom and future and paid numerous high prices, in particular the July 15 coup attempt. It has lost many sons and daughters on the way. It will never backtrack on it. We have not forgotten how those, who press our country so hard because we are buying the S-400s, packed up the available systems and left while terrorists’ rockets and bombs were hitting our country,” President Erdoğan said.
