President Erdoğan: We will continue our struggle until the last FETO member is brought to justice

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech during a luncheon held at the Presidential Complex with families of martyrs and ghazis on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

“JULY 15 IS A MILESTONE IN TURKEY’S FIGHT AGAINST TERROR”

Stating that July 15 has not only strengthened democracy, but is also a milestone in Turkey’s fight against terror, President Erdoğan said Turkey has carried out the biggest operations of its history not only at home but also against terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq, and that the plans that aim to surround Turkey from the south have thus been thwarted. “With the steps we have taken in the eastern Mediterranean, we have laid bare our determination to defend the rights of our nation as well as of the Turkish Cypriots.”

“OVER 100 FUGITIVE FETO-MEMBER TERRORISTS HAVE THUS FAR BEEN CAUGHT ABROAD”

Also touching upon the fight Turkey has waged abroad against Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), President Erdoğan noted that over 100 fugitive FETO-member terrorists have thus far been caught abroad and brought to justice, and added: “We are in an all-out struggle for the closure of the places of fitnah they run in different countries on the pretext of school, course or cultural center. We have ensured the handing over of 214 schools, which belonged to the organization, in 18 countries to Turkish Maarif Foundation and the closure of these places of fitnah in 36 other countries.”

Further stressing that the measures taken by friendly and brotherly countries against FETO are also on the rise, President Erdoğan noted: “The number of the countries and international organizations that have recognized FETO as a murderous terrorist organization is increasing with each passing day. We will determinedly continue our struggle at home and abroad until the last FETO member is brought to justice.”
