President Erdoğan: We will continue to implement projects that will increase the welfare of each and every member of our nation
President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the party’s parliamentary group meeting.
“WE ARE WORKING TO ENSURE THAT OUR COUNTRY TAKES ITS RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE RESTRUCTURED GLOBAL SYSTEM”
Whereas almost all the developing and developed countries’ economies shrank last year Turkey ended the year with growth, said President Erdoğan, noting that the Turkish economy had a very strong growth performance in the first two quarters of 2021, as well. “We are using our production capacity to the full extent. We are breaking records after records in exports. We have outperformed even the pre-pandemic period in employment. Our investors are running after machines and raw materials to boost production. We are working to ensure that our country, rising on the strong infrastructure we have built over the past 19 years, takes its rightful place in the newly-restructured global political and economic system. The ongoing process has better demonstrated the importance of the education institutions, hospitals, roads, tunnels, dams, irrigation facilities and organized industrial zones we have built. Such efforts and experiences lie behind the fact that Turkey differentiates itself positively in an environment of global crisis and starts to become a hub of production and exportation.”
Turkey has overcome the coronavirus pandemic with its strong healthcare infrastructure and will also surmount the difficulties caused by the climate change with the Green Development Revolution, further stressed President Erdoğan, adding that Turkey’s National Technology Move has taken the country to an important level in areas of medium-high technology, particularly in defense industry.
Drawing attention to Turkey’s determination to achieve success in every field with targeted carbon-neutral investments under the Green Development Revolution, President Erdoğan stated: “We will continue to make investments, introduce services and implement projects that will develop every inch of our country’s lands and increase the welfare of each and every member of our nation. Let me hereby share the good news that the memorandum of understanding regarding the provision of $3.157 billion from the Green Climate Fund to our country, the negotiations over which were underway for a while, has been signed a couple of days ago.”
“THE MOTION ABOUT SYRIA AND IRAQ IS AIMED AT ERADICATING TERRORIST ATTACKS AT THEIR SOURCE”
Touching upon the motion which the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) ratified yesterday extending the mandate to launch cross-border anti-terror operations in Syria and Iraq for two years, President Erdoğan underlined that the motion is actually a routine practice going on for long years against cross-border terrorist threats targeting Turkey, with 76 such motions having already been debated and ratified by the GNAT over the past 71 years.
Underscoring that the motion about Syria and Iraq is aimed at preventing the formation of a terror corridor sought to be created along Turkey’s borders and eradicating terrorist attacks against Turkey at their source, President Erdoğan added that the threat of terrorism originates from terrorist organizations such as DAESH and the PKK/YPG.
