President Erdoğan: We will elevate Turkey to the level of the most powerful countries of the world in every field
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke via videoconference at the Inauguration of Reyhanlı Dam, Afrin Stream Davutlar Regulator and Diversion Canal, Tahtaköprü Dam Elevation Project and Hatay Drinking Water Treatment Plant.
Touching upon the developments in Syria, President Erdoğan said that while Turkey stands with its friends, its brothers and sisters and the oppressed everywhere from Syria and Libya to the Eastern Mediterranean and the Caucasia, it also shapes its own future.
Stating that as Turkey, with operations Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, Peace Spring and the operations carried out in Idlib, has destroyed the terror corridor sought to be established on its border, it has also shown that the Syrians are not alone, and added: “We know that Turkey, starting from Hatay and our other border provinces, will not live in peace and security unless Syria finds peace and security. We will continue to actively be on the ground until stability is restored on this long border of ours, as is the case in the Balkans, the Caucasia and the Mediterranean.”
“The existing terror hotbeds in Syria will either be cleaned as it has been promised to us or we will go and do so ourselves,” underscored President Erdoğan, and noted: “We will by no means agree to any step that will cause a new humanitarian tragedy in Idlib. We will not hesitate to duly respond to the harassments and provocative attacks that that try our patience. We surely prefer peace and political methods in the settlement of the issues in Syria, just like in any other matter. Until the entire world comes to this point, we are determined to continue on our path.”
“WE WILL RUN TO MANY MORE SUCCESSES”
Describing Turkey’s ability to gather its citizens of different origins, religions and characters under a common roof and around shared goals as its most precious asset, President Erdoğan said: “It is this social richness of ours that has always been targeted by those who have sought to undermine our national unity and solidarity and our state’s strength. We suffered a lot from this in the past. Political and social tensions cost our country dearly. Thanks be to Allah, our nation, noticing this plot, managed to regroup around shared goals in a short span of time.”
The President added: “As the successors of our ancestors, who fought shoulder to shoulder for a thousand years to render these lands home to us, we will, inshallah, run together to many more successes. Our goal is to elevate Turkey to the level of the most powerful countries of the world politically and economically in every field.”
