President Erdoğan: We will never backtrack on our decision to make Türkiye one of the world’s top 10 economies

 

President and Justice and Development Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at a meeting with the 27th legislative term deputies of AK Party at the party’s headquarters in Ankara.

“Türkiye’s economy, especially in terms of the regional situation, is integrated with the whole world. Therefore, every development that takes place at global level closely concerns us as well,” President Erdoğan said, and added: “Obviously, high inflation rates and excessive prices are not solely our problem. Most of the European countries are faced with even worse situations than us, and the officials of even the most developed countries tell their citizens that their levels of welfare will fall. Nevertheless, none of them are, if not can be excuses that remove our responsibility towards our nation.”

“We have taken action to make Türkiye one of the leading centers in the global production system, which has been restructured with the pandemic,” President Erdoğan stated, and added: “The fact that our industry, our roads and our harbors work around the clock, and that our exports continue to increase, breaking records each month, all show that we are on the right track to our goals.”

Touching upon the progress Türkiye had made in defense industry, President Erdoğan pointed to the helicopters delivered to the Philippines the previous day, and said: “We are now capable of exporting helicopters. We have never bowed down to anyone in our anti-terror fight or cross-border operations. We have always acted in accordance with the requirements of Türkiye’s interests. And thanks be to Allah, we have completed every operation we have launched with victory. Our defense industry products, which have proven themselves during this period, have become the choice of the global market. This initiative, of which our UCAVs have become the symbol, has hundreds and thousands of concrete outcomes.”

Following his speech, President Erdoğan shared iftar with the deputies.
