President Erdoğan: We will put the Port of Filyos into service as of 2023

 

President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at a campaign rally in the province of Zonguldak in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.

“PORT OF FILYOS WILL BE THE MAIN EXPORT CENTER OF THE ENTIRE BLACK SEA REGION”

Making remarks on the upcoming local elections, President Erdoğan pointed to the TL18.5-billion worth of services, investments and projects introduced in Zonguldak over the past 17 years in a wide range of areas including education, healthcare, transportation, infrastructure, agriculture and industry, and added that they are halfway through the Port of Filyos project that has a 150-year-old history and is expected to change the fate of the region.

President Erdoğan noted: “With the Port of Filyos project, a port complex, which will provide a combined transportation service along the north-south axis of the western Black Sea, will be actualized. It will be the main export center of the entire Black Sea region, particularly Karabük and Bartın as well as of Zonguldak.” Underscoring that the infrastructural works of this important port will be completed next year, President Erdoğan stated that they will hopefully put the Port of Filyos, the superstructural works of which he said will commence in 2021, into service as of 2023.
