President Erdoğan: We work to be the voice of all our friends and brothers

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Türkiye Scholarships and 8th International Students’ Graduation Ceremony.

“Nearly 147 thousand students have applied globally to the Türkiye Scholarships this year alone,” President Erdoğan stated, adding that the fact that most applications have come from such countries as Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Somalia and Myanmar, which deal with serious problems, shows that the programme has achieved its primary goal.

Underscoring that there is no challenge that unity and solidarity cannot overcome during a period when the world witnesses political, trade and military struggles carried out in the most merciless ways, President Erdoğan said: “We should all together work without rest until we build a global order where conscience, ethics, mercy and justice prevail. Only in this way can we leave next generations a legacy for which we will be remembered with gratitude.”

“It is thanks to our victories that we have achieved in diplomacy as well as in economy that there is today a Turkey which embraces the Palestinian cause, extends a helping hand to Africa, and stands with its brothers and sisters in the Central Asia and the Balkans,” President Erdoğan went on to say, and added: “We work to be the voice of all our friends and brothers as well as of ourselves everywhere, from the United Nations and the G20 to NATO and many international cooperation platforms. We will, inshallah, maintain this dignified stance of ours to the end for both ourselves and our friends.”

“We will by no means make any compromises on the rule of law, democracy, ethics and legitimacy while fighting the injustices against Turkey,” the President further stressed, and added: “Inspired by our ancient history, we consider education to be the most effective means to break the invisible chains of modern slavery. With this understanding, we have made education our top priority for both ourselves and you, our sisters and brothers.”
