President Erdoğan: We work to turn our country into a regional center of attraction in health tourism

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at an iftar with healthcare workers at the exhibition hall in the Presidential Complex.

“WE CANNOT EXPECT OTHERS TO BE MERCIFUL BEFORE WE LOOK INTO AND QUESTION OURSELVES”

“When we look across the geography close to our heart, we see that the Islamic world longs for peace, tranquility and serenity,” President Erdoğan said. “Our centers of science and knowledge, which had for centuries been known as lands of peace, are today remembered for barrel bombs, mothers crying for their babies they just buried. Damascus, Baghdad, Arakan, they are all like that. Those, responsible for this terrible scene, are without doubt obvious. The dark mentality, which sees a drop of oil more valuable than a drop of blood, surely has a role in the tragedies in our region. It is also a fact that the parasites, who are enslaved by their own interests, stir up the tensions in our region and exploit our region through the divide and rule policy. It is also an undeniable fact that tears and toils of millions of Africans lie beneath the Western capitals’ sumptuous look. However, the only party responsible for this heartbreaking scene, which overshadows our Ramadan joy, is not the invaders or the imperialist powers.”

“To be frank, we the Muslims are, first and foremost, responsible for the gloomy landscape in the Islamic world,” President Erdoğan said. “If those, who fast together, pray five times a day towards the same kiblah, believe in the same holy book, can turn their weapons at each other, brutally murder each other, there is something wrong here. We cannot expect others to be merciful before we look into and question ourselves.”
