President Erdoğan: With its powers and mission, the Court of Accounts plays a key role in our public administration system

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the 160th foundation anniversary event of the Turkish Court of Accounts in Ankara.
Noting that the Court of Accounts, which came into existence as a result of the public reform efforts of the Ottoman State, was placed in an important position within the state functions, President Erdoğan said: “The Court of Accounts, which operates with the goal of controlling the revenues and expenditures in a bid to contribute to financial discipline, has come to its current point by preserving its importance in every era. I have no doubt that members of the Court of Accounts, which acts on the behalf of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, have been working to properly carry out the responsibilities they assume. The state budget, which falls under the audit area of the Court of Accounts, is made up of resources which 85 million citizens allocate from their livelihoods for the public. That is why the Court of Accounts has been carrying out works observing the rights of every citizen.”
Describing the Court of Accounts as one of the main pillars of a state of law, President Erdoğan underlined that the Court of Accounts, with its powers, experience and mission, plays a key role in the Turkish public administration system.
