President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 5th General Assembly of the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) at Atatürk Cultural Center in Istanbul

 

“THE SO-CALLED WESTERN VALUES ARE ACTUALLY EMPTY INSIDE”

Making a speech at the General Assembly, President Erdoğan underscored that the recently ongoing developments, particularly the genocide that has been carried out in Gaza for 18 months, have shown all that the so-called Western values are actually empty inside, and said: “The already-weakened moral superiority of the West has completely vanished with every innocent child, woman and baby that has brutally massacred. It is now high time the notion of democracy was saved from the shackles of the West and introduced to the humanity as a torch of rights and freedom in real terms. I believe that we should look at the Western-patented campaigns and arguments concerning women’s rights from the same perspective as well.”

“WE WILL INSHALLAH BUILD THE CENTURY OF TÜRKİYE”

Stressing that the society is faced with the negative effects of a lifestyle tempted by the neoliberal culture, and noted: “The family institution, which is the foundation of a society, is under threat in our country as well as the entire world. We are in a period during which the family, starting a family and having a child are being undermined more than ever before.”

“In the past 23 years, we, together with women, have grown Türkiye bigger, developed it, and turned it into a country that stands out in democracy and freedoms. We will inshallah build the Century of Türkiye shoulder to shoulder with our women as well. I wholeheartedly believe that KADEM and similar nongovernmental organizations will carry out much more efficient works on the strong, legal and social infrastructure we have built in solidarity with women,” President Erdoğan added.

Also touching upon the goal of “terror-free Türkiye”, President Erdoğan asked women to strongly support the efforts exerted to that end.
