The 8th Summit of the Turkic Council kicks off
The 8th Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council), hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has kicked off.
Attending the summit, held under the theme of “Green Technologies and Smart Cities in the Digital Age” on Democracy and Freedoms Island, are President İlham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Kassym-Jomart K. Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary and Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev.
Leaders will exchange views regarding regional and international political and economic developments at the summit during which the term presidency of the organization will be passed on from Azerbaijan to Turkey, and the Istanbul Declaration will be signed.
