“The deepest concern of those who wag their fingers at judges and public prosecutors is that their true colors will be revealed”
Speaking at the Appointment Ceremony of Judges and Public Prosecutors, President Erdoğan said: “We see that an irresponsible tone, which targets the members of our judiciary, even amounting to threats most of the time, has been prevailing in the politics in the recent months. The reason for this is the gravity and seriousness of the allegations faced. The deepest concern of those who seek to paralyze the justice system by wagging their fingers at, threatening and harassing judges and public prosecutors at every opportunity is that their true colors will be revealed.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Appointment Ceremony of Judges and Public Prosecutors in Ankara.
Voicing his pleasure over hosting judges and public prosecutors at the Presidential Complex, President Erdoğan wished success to 712 judges, 492 public prosecutors and 147 administrative law judges, who have successfully completed their education and internship processes and will begin their duties following the drawing ceremony.
“WE HAVE FULFILLED OUR PROMISE THAT WE WOULD ELEVATE TÜRKİYE ON EDUCATION AND JUSTICE”
Underscoring that the strongest shield that protects the Turkish nation against the threats and attacks they have faced for centuries is undoubtedly the importance they attach to justice, President Erdoğan said: “When we shouldered the responsibility of governing our country, we promised that we would elevate Türkiye on education, healthcare, justice and security. Thanks be to Allah, we have fulfilled our promise. We have made the biggest investments in these areas in the past 23 years. We have made the biggest reforms in these areas as well. We have kept our will to make reforms alive since day one for a justice system which operates fairly and efficiently, and which gives confidence to all the individuals of the society,”
“WE HAVE REDUCED CASE CLOSURE TIMES”
Stating that they have reduced case closure times, and that they have left behind many European countries in this area, President Erdoğan noted: “According to the reports of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice, the average case processing time at our administrative courts is 168 days. I would like to stress that it is 314 days in France, 308 in Germany and 574 in Italy. While the average case processing time at regional administrative courts is 136 days in our country, it is 325 days in Spain, 329 in France and 460 in Germany. Türkiye has come to this point with great sacrifices.”
“AN IRRESPONSIBLE TONE HAS BEEN PREVAILING IN THE POLITICS”
Further stressing that all should support members of the judiciary, who perform their duties honestly and justly within the constitution and laws, President Erdoğan noted that no one should consider the silence of members of the judiciary, who can speak solely through their decisions, to be a weakness, and added: “We see that an irresponsible tone, which targets the members of our judiciary, even amounting to threats most of the time, has been prevailing in the politics in the recent months. The reason for this is the gravity and seriousness of the allegations faced. The deepest concern of those who seek to paralyze the justice system by wagging their fingers at, threatening and harassing judges and public prosecutors at every opportunity is that their true colors will be revealed.”
