“The doors of a new era are opening for our country”
Delivering the closing speech of AK Party’s Consultation and Assessment Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “The doors of a new era are opening for our country. We are realizing step by step our ideal of the Century of Türkiye.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered the closing remarks at AK Party’s 32nd Consultation and Assessment Meeting in Ankara’s Kızılcahamam district.
President Erdoğan said: “The doors of a new era are opening for our country. We are realizing step by step our ideal of the Century of Türkiye. We are at the threshold of fully liberating our country from the shackles of terrorism put on our nation’s feet 47 years ago. Our half-century endeavor of patience is gradually paying off. We have already started to see concrete outcomes. The ceremony held on Friday was meaningful in this regard.”
President Erdoğan stated: “Through the mechanism established under the leadership of the National Intelligence Organization and the Turkish Armed Forces, we closely followed on the ground the process of laying down weapons. The formation of the parliamentary committee, on the other hand, is being run by the Parliament Speaker. We expect to receive good news from there, too. We hope all the parties with a group at the parliament will support in good faith the steps to be taken under the roof of the parliament. No one can afford to disrupt, undermine, sabotage this process or play petty games regarding such an issue.”
Expressing determination to maintain the process, President Erdoğan continued: “No matter what they do, they won’t be able to deter us from this blessed journey. They won’t be able to prevent this country from getting rid of the half-century shackles of terror. As I said yesterday, the cost of separatist terror to our country is around 2 trillion dollars. For years, we allocated the resources that should have been expended for schools, hospitals, roads, for building factories, for supporting farmers, students and tradespeople to the fight against terror. With the Terror-free Türkiye, we will from now on allocate these resources to all segments of the 86 million, including retirees, farmers, tradespeople, public servants, industrialists and housewives.”
