The First Couple share iftar with artists
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan met with artists at an iftar at Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul.
Thanking his guests for their contributions to Türkiye’s culture and arts, President Erdoğan said: “One of the most essential elements of civilization is culture/arts.”

“What distinguishes developing societies, and best demonstrates their original aspects is a multitude of cultural and artistic products ranging from architecture to music. Therefore, people of culture and artists are the engines of civilization that enable societies to generate their own colors and show them to the entire world.”
Underlining that artists reflected society, President Erdoğan said: “The experiences, tastes, problems and dreams of a society shapes and guides its artists.”

Underscoring that one of the most vital duties in building a great and powerful Türkiye fell on to the artists, President Erdoğan said: “Development, unless crowned with culture and arts, is nothing but stone, concrete, iron, glass and metal. However, we pursue not a meagre development, but the revival of a civilization. Inshallah, we will accomplish that together with you.”
