The First Couple share iftar with martyrs’ families

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan met with martyrs’ families at an iftar in Istanbul.

Delivering remarks at the iftar, President Erdoğan thanked his guests for honoring his table.

“WE ARE EXERTING INTENSIVE EFFORTS TO END THE WAR BETWEEN RUSSIA AND UKRAINE”

“We are welcoming the month of Ramadan in a climate of war that is taking place north of the Black Sea, and whose political and social effects reach all the way to Türkiye,” President Erdoğan said. “We are exerting intensive efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, with both of whom we share close social, political, economic and historical relations. We especially hope that this war, whose negative repercussions we also feel since it disrupts the balances of global trade in many areas from energy to food, will come to an end as soon as possible.”

Underscoring the government’s determination to make Türkiye one of the top 10 economies in the world, President Erdoğan said: “Inshallah, Türkiye will have entered an exceptional period after 2023. We believe the best way to pay our debt of gratitude to our martyrs and veterans is to achieve our goals for 2023, and to bequeath the youth our vision for 2053.”
