“Türkiye continues to be an island of stability despite all the adversities in its vicinity”
Holding a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “When we make a review of the 11 months of 2025 that we have left behind, we see that our country, under the leadership of highly-qualified, competent, hardworking and experienced cadres, has successfully overcome hardships. Türkiye continues to be an island of stability, peace and security despite all the adversities in its vicinity.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
“When we make a review of the 11 months of 2025 that we have left behind, we see that our country, under the leadership of highly-qualified, competent, hardworking and experienced cadres, has successfully overcome hardships. Türkiye continues to be an island of stability, peace and security despite all the adversities in its vicinity. We better understand today the importance of the strong infrastructure that we have built in our country in every area over the past 23 years despite the objections of the opposition,” President Erdoğan said.
“TÜRKİYE WILL DEFINITELY ACHIEVE ITS GOALS”
“We have had achievements of historic proportions in fighting terrorism in all its forms. Now we are running a sensitive process with a view to crowning this fight. We are working to remove one of the biggest obstacles to our economic rise, peace, and brotherhood through the terror-free Türkiye process. Everyone, merchants of death and chaos in particular, should know that we, unlike those driven by insatiable ambitions, have a state tradition with ancient roots. We are one of the rare nations that have lived freely for a thousand years without any interruption in our independence in this geography, at the heart of which we are located.”
Stressing that Türkiye is not a country that would fear or succumb to threats, President Erdoğan went on: “Türkiye will definitely achieve its goals, sooner or later. Our history harbors countless examples of this. Let me once again underline that for a thousand years, our hearts have been beating together with our Kurdish and Arab brothers and sisters, as well as with the other brotherly and friendly communities across the region.”
Recalling Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Türkiye last week, President Erdoğan said: “During our talks in Ankara, we discussed matters of common concern to us, particularly threats against the family institution. We reaffirmed the importance of the Alliance of Civilizations, which has some 160 members under the umbrella of the United Nations. Islamophobia, recently on the rise in the West, was high on our agenda. We drew attention to Israel’s atrocious attacks against mosques, schools, hospitals and churches in Gaza. We expressed our appreciation for the principled stance displayed on the Palestine issue by both the late Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV. We conveyed to them the importance we place on the preservation of the ceasefire, which was reached with our contributions, as well as on the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region and the preservation of the historical status of al-Quds al-Sharif.”
“THE TARGETING OF COMMERCIAL VESSELS IN OUR EXCLUSIVE ECONOMIC ZONE INDICATES AN ALARMING ESCALATION”
Noting that the recent developments regarding the relations with the European Union were also addressed during today’s cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan stated: “Full membership continues to be our strategic priority despite the obstacles placed before us. It is evident that the Russia-Ukraine war has reached a level that clearly threatens navigational safety in the Black Sea. On Friday, the targeting of commercial vessels in our exclusive economic zone indicates an alarming escalation. We cannot in any way excuse these attacks, which particularly threaten the safety of navigation, life, and the environment in our own exclusive zone. We issue the necessary warnings to all parties regarding such incidents. We are closely following the recent momentum toward ending the war, and we reiterate at every opportunity that we stand ready to make the necessary contributions.”
