“Türkiye continues to write a brand-new success story in foreign policy”
Addressing AK Party’s parliamentary group meeting, President Erdoğan recalled his official visits to Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan, and said: “We closely witnessed the greatness of Türkiye and the Turkish nation during all our three visits. We see that Türkiye continues to break the mold, go beyond the ordinary, and write a brand-new success story that befits its historical heritage in foreign policy.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the party’s parliamentary group meeting.
OFFICIAL VISITS TO MALAYSIA, INDONESIA AND PAKISTAN
Recalling his official visits to Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan, President Erdoğan said: “We closely witnessed the greatness of Türkiye and the Turkish nation during all our three visits. We see that Türkiye continues to break the mold, go beyond the ordinary, and write a brand-new success story that befits its historical heritage in foreign policy.”
President Erdoğan noted that in Malaysia, he addressed an audience of 3 thousand people at Universiti Malaya, where he was presented with an honorary doctorate degree, and attended the Türkiye-Malaysia Business Forum.
Stating that after Malaysia, he proceeded to Indonesia, where he and President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia co-chaired the first meeting of the Türkiye-Indonesia High-Level Strategic Council, President Erdoğan noted that they crowned the meeting by signing 12 documents, and added: “Following Indonesia, we visited the last stop of our tour, Pakistan. I do not deem it even necessary to talk about the Türkiye-Pakistan friendship. Pakistan is a brotherly country, with which we have a shared history and civilization. How can we forget the material and spiritual support Pakistani people provided to the national struggle? How can we forget the lines Pakistan’s national poet Muhammad Iqbal wrote for the Çanakkale victory? How can we forget Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif being the first leader to visit the earthquake zone following the February 6 quakes.”
“We discussed in detail regional matters, Gaza and Syria in particular, during our talks in all the three countries. We stressed that we would never allow the U.S. administration’s inhumane and illegitimate plans aimed at exiling our Gazan brothers and sisters from their own homeland with Israel’s provocation,” President Erdoğan said.
“WE STAND WITH THE OPPRESSED AND THE DOWNTRODDEN IN GAZA AND OTHER PLACES”
Underscoring that the intense interest shown Türkiye all across the world is the result of the influence and reputation Türkiye has acquired, and of the dignified and principled stance it has embraced on regional matters, especially Gaza and Syria, President Erdoğan stated: “In a period when many countries, including Europe, remained silent, we spoke up without hesitation for Gaza, for Palestine, for Yemen, Arakan, Syria and Sudan. It was also us who made the strongest criticism against global impositions with our maxim “The World is Bigger than 5.” And today we, without bowing down, stand tall with the oppressed and the downtrodden in both Gaza and other places. We will inshallah continue to walk, without any deviation, on the path we deem to be right from now on as well. We will continue to strengthen our cooperation self-confidently on mutual respect and win-win bases with an understanding that focuses on people. While we place our country’s interests above anything else, we will endeavor to properly fulfill the responsibility laid on us by our history.”
