“We are launching the Employment Protection Programme to protect production and employment”
Speaking at the Award Ceremony for Contributors to Economy in Bursa, President Erdoğan said: “We attach importance to maintaining our competitive strength in the apparel, textile, leather, and furniture sectors, whose annual exports are worth 37 billion dollars and which create employment for over 1.2 million people. We are launching the Employment Protection Programme through Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Development Organisation (KOSGEB) in January 2025 to protect production and employment.”

“BURSA WILL SET AN EXAMPLE FOR OTHER CITIES IN TECHNOLOGY”
Describing every investment made today in future technologies as of vital importance for Türkiye, President Erdoğan drew attention to the support the government provides for such technologies, and added that he believes Bursa, the locomotive of production in Türkiye, would also set an example for other cities of the country in the field of technology.
“WE HAVE PURSUED POLICIES THAT WOULD ENSURE GROWTH IN A WIDE RANGE OF AREAS”
Noting that they, during their 22 years in power, saw growth as the key to overcoming the problems and crises experienced by Türkiye, President Erdoğan stated: “From economy to defense, from foreign policy to trade, we have pursued policies that would ensure this growth in a wide range of areas. As I have said during our provincial congress before coming here, we do not want to settle for temporary achievements in economy that fade away like a soap bubble, and we never seek short-term gains. We are standing strong and taking firm steps.”
“WE HAVE ACHIEVED OUR GOALS FOR 2024 TO A LARGE EXTENT”
Drawing attention to the improvements in economy, President Erdoğan said: “We have full confidence and support for our economic programme. We have achieved our goals for 2024 to a large extent despite the crises that resurfaced in our region and the elections. International capital inflow to our country has accelerated, our reserves have strengthened, foreign exchange volatility has decreased, and financing circumstances have ameliorated. Our country’s credit risk premium has dropped significantly. We are the only country worldwide whose credit rating was increased twice by three credit rating agencies. Within the 2025 budget, we have allocated 1 trillion 569 billion liras for investments, acting with realistic steps and a shared vision for the future.”
“WE ARE PLANNING TO DELIVER UP TO 2,500 TURKISH LIRAS PER EMPLOYEE TO SMEs”
Unveiling a package agreed upon during the last cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We attach importance to maintaining our competitive strength in the apparel, textile, leather, and furniture sectors, whose annual exports are worth 37 billion dollars and which create employment for over 1.2 million people. We are launching the Employment Protection Programme through Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Development Organisation (KOSGEB) in January 2025 to protect production and employment. In these sectors, we are planning to deliver up to 2,500 Turkish liras per employee to SMEs that maintain in 2025 the employment figures they have in the last months of 2024.”
