“We are striving to secure the future of our people and our country”

Delivering remarks following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan, as regards the terror-free Türkiye process, said: “My nation should know that we are never in pursuit of political gain; we are striving to secure the future of our people and our country. Through the terror-free Türkiye process, we are endeavoring to leave our children a country in which they can lead a happy, prosperous and peaceful life.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
“WE ARE ENDEAVORING TO LEAVE OUR CHILDREN A COUNTRY IN WHICH THEY CAN LEAD A HAPPY, PROSPEROUS AND PEACEFUL LIFE”
President Erdoğan said: “We are making multifaceted efforts to raise Türkiye’s prestige, grow Türkiye through brotherhood, peacefully build the Century of Türkiye, and free our country from the shackles of the past half-century, including separatist terror. If taking risks is necessary to these ends, we take them; if fighting is required, we wage it; if dialogue is needed, we engage in it without hesitation. My nation should know that we are never in pursuit of political gain; we are striving to secure the future of our people and our country. Through the terror-free Türkiye process, we are endeavoring to leave our children a country in which they can lead a happy, prosperous and peaceful life. What matters to us is our nation, our country. Whatever we do, we do it for the unity, prosperity and peace of our 86-million population. Whatever we do, we do it to render Türkiye successful and victorious.”
“ON JULY 15, GLOBAL IMPERIALISM LOST ITS MOST LOYAL ALLY INSIDE TÜRKİYE”
Touching upon the anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt marked last Tuesday, President Erdoğan stated: “As the 86 million, we commemorated with pride the victory of the July 15 national resistance, through which we defeated the FETO-member traitors. On July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, we once again remembered with grace the 253 martyrs who fell to the ground that night. We extended our gratitude to our 2740 brothers and sisters who tasted the honor of being ghazis. May Allah bless all of them. I wish mercy upon all our heroes who were martyrized while defending their homeland, flag and future.”
Stressing that FETO had grown under the protection of foreign powers since its establishment, with anti-democratic interferences and coups further clearing the path for its expansion, President Erdoğan said: “On July 15, global imperialism lost its most loyal ally inside Türkiye. The fight has not ended, though. We will maintain our struggle with determination and vigilance, and with great care to differentiate between the guilty and the innocent, until FETO is totally eliminated.”
“THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN OUR REGION IS ISRAEL’S AGGRESSION”
Drawing attention to Israel’s ongoing attacks in the region, President Erdoğan stated: “Israel has been doing everything in its power to engulf our region in bloodshed, chaos and turmoil. Our 58 thousand brothers and sisters have been martyrized in Gaza since October 7, 2023, with the number of the wounded exceeding 138 thousand. Attacking Lebanon, Yemen and Iran besides Palestine, Israel massacred innocent people and bombed civilian residential areas. As if these were not enough, Israel, using the Druze as a pretext, has extended its banditry into our neighbor Syria over the past two days. Let me once again state openly that Israel is a lawless, rule-breaking, unprincipled, arrogant, indulged, and bloodthirsty terrorist state. At this point, the biggest problem in our region is Israel’s aggression. This suffering, this atrocity, this genocide, this aggression inflicted on the entire region will never be forgotten, causing deep scars in the consciences. Unless this monster is stopped immediately, it will not shy away from setting fire fist to the region and then to the whole world.”
“OUR CORE POLICY IS TO PRESERVE SYRIA’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY AND MULTICULTURAL IDENTITY”
Underscoring that it is Türkiye’s core policy to preserve the territorial integrity, national unity, unitary structure, and multicultural identity of its neighbor Syria, President Erdoğan went on: “We did not consent to the partition of Syria yesterday, and we absolutely will not consent to it today or tomorrow. Those dreaming of creating a corridor between the south and the north of Syria at the cost of the country’s territorial integrity will never be able to achieve their targets. We will hinder them in solidarity with our Syrian brothers and sisters. Those who go down the well with Israel’s rope will sooner or later realize they have made a grave miscalculation.”
President Erdoğan continued: “Just like our Kurdish citizens inside our borders, the Kurds in Syria are also our true brothers and sisters, a part of our soul. We will not let them be swallowed by Zionism, either. Our greatest wish is for all groups within Syria, including Arabs, Turkmens, Kurds, Christians, Sunnis, Nusayris, and the Druze, to live together in peace. This is indeed the path to Syria’s wellbeing. A stable Syria will generate stability for all neighboring countries. Otherwise, the burden of instability will be shared by everyone. I hereby extend my most heartfelt messages of solidarity to the government and people of Syria.”
“WE ARE CLOSELY MONITORING ALL DEVELOPMENTS IN SYRIA”
President Erdoğan added: “I wholeheartedly believe that President Ahmad Al-Sharaa will be able to overcome all the troubles with his wise, determined, embracing and powerful leadership. Today, I had a phone call with Mr. Al-Sharaa. We discussed the situation on the ground as well as what can be done to stop the bloodshed. Our relevant ministries and security units are in contact with their Syrian counterparts. We are closely monitoring all developments in Syria in real time and will continue to do so.”
Drawing attention to the attempts of the armed militants, provoked by Israel, to sabotage the ceasefire in Syria reached through contributions from Türkiye as well, President Erdoğan stated: “As Türkiye, we will continue to stand with Syria and to support our Syrian brothers and sisters, as we have done so far. Those who seek a secure future through oppression and massacres should never forget this: they are merely passersby, we are the innkeepers. We are the ones who truly belong to this land. We have been living in this geography for thousands of years. We have our footprints and the blessed blood of our martyrs in every inch of it.”
“WE WANT PEACE AND STABILITY IN OUR REGION”
President Erdoğan went on to say: “With our dignified foreign policy, our efforts for peace, and our diplomatic engagements, we stand on the side of peace and tranquility. We bear no hostility toward anyone, we do not look with malice, nor do we approach with enmity. We do not encroach upon anyone’s rights, laws, or sovereignty — we only seek peace. We want peace and stability in our region. We have done whatever is necessary to achieve this, and will continue to do so. We will continue to uphold conscience, laws, rights, and brotherhood and good-neighborliness in our foreign policy as much as we observe our own interests.”
Recalling UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Türkiye yesterday, President Erdoğan stated: “We had a bilateral meeting with him, followed by very inclusive talks with the participation of our respective delegations. We chaired the first meeting of the High-level Strategic Council. Also, we crowned this important visit with seven agreements. We are planning to increase our trade with the UAE to 20 billion dollars this year, and to 40 billion dollars in the mid-run. We will further strengthen our relations with our brothers and sisters in the Gulf in the period ahead.”
