“We are working with all our strength to make the Republic of Türkiye live forever”
In a message he issued on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic, President Erdoğan said: “The Republic of Türkiye is the last home of our selfless nation, who firmly held on to its freedom and future despite all the deprivations, poverty and hardships during the most troubled days of its history, and it is the last link of our chain of states. With this high level of consciousness, we are working with all our strength to uphold the legacy of our martyrs and ghazis, and to make the Republic of Türkiye, which rises in courageous and devoted hands, live forever.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic.
Congratulating citizens living in Türkiye and all across the world on 29 October Republic Day, President Erdoğan said:
“On this important day, one of the pinnacles of our history full of victories, I, form the bottom of my heart, congratulate all of our 86 million citizens within our borders, the Turkish Cypriot people, and each one of our brothers and sisters abroad. Likewise, I, on behalf of myself and my nation, offer my gratitude to all of our friends with whom we cultivated our garden of civilization together and inherited a heritage of shared past and culture, and who share our joy.
“I COMMEMORATE WITH MERCY THE HEROES WHO MADE THESE LANDS HOME TO US”
Today, we, as a nation, are proudly celebrating the 102nd foundation anniversary of our Republic. I wish for this important day, when our ideal of independence and future materialized in the unconditional sovereignty of the nation, to lead to auspicious developments for our country, our nation and the whole humanity.
Today, I once again remember with gratitude all members – first and foremost Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk – of our veteran National Assembly, which paved the way for the Republic by orchestrating and commanding the National Struggle. From the first incursions in Ahlat and Malazgirt to the Çanakkale Victory to the War of Independence to the July 15 Resistance, I commemorate with mercy the heroes who made these lands home to us through their lives and blood throughout centuries.
I would like to announce once again a fact the whole world already knows: We are both a powerful nation and a deep-rooted state. The sun and the 16 stars surrounding it in the Presidential Seal symbolize our state tradition dating back thousands of years. Each one of these states, which we founded with the ‘Ebed-müddet’ [the eternal state] ideal, is a source of honor and glory for our national identity and a sign of the strength and compassion of our august nation, which leads the world.
“IN LINE WITH THE GOALS OF THE CENTURY OF TÜRKİYE, WE ARE UNDERTAKING GROUNDBREAKING INITIATIVES IN EVERY FIELD”

In line with the goals of the Century of Türkiye, with which we will leave our mark on the century, we are undertaking groundbreaking initiatives in every field, from defense industry to economy, from education to tourism, energy and foreign policy.
Healing the wounds of the February 6th, 2023 earthquake, we are swiftly delivering secure homes to the victims of the disaster. We will inshallah have handed over the keys of 453 thousand houses by the end of the year as we have promised.
“WE ARE ADVANCING WITH FIRM STEPS TOWARDS THE DESTINATION OF A TERROR-FREE TÜRKİYE”
We are also advancing with firm steps towards the destination of a terror-free Türkiye, where our 86 million citizens will live in peace, security, and prosperity. We will inshallah continue to overcome obstacles, foil traps and frustrate the aspirations of those acting with expansionist ambitions, without giving any chance to chaos-mongers who target our national unity and solidarity.
On the other hand, in a period when wars, conflicts and crises undermine universal values, we, as Türkiye, in our capacity as the defender of the truth, are working with all our strength for a ‘fairer world’. Through our mediation efforts, diplomatic initiatives, and humanitarian aid in numerous regions of crisis, particularly in Gaza and Palestine, we are endeavoring to stop the bloodshed, heal the wounds, and clear the path to lasting peace.
With our 360-degree foreign policy vision, which is inspired by the double-headed Seljuk Eagle, we will continue to fulfill all our responsibilities with great diligence in a manner that befits our history and identity.
