“We have been working since day one to improve the quality of education”

Speaking at a Teachers’ Day event, President Erdoğan said: “We have been working since day one to improve the quality of education, expand access to education, remove barriers to and bans on education, and ensure equal opportunities among our students.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at a Teachers’ Day and Teachers’ Appointment Event at the Nation’s Library in Ankara.

“It is our fundamental duty to give our teachers, who hold a special place in society and in each of our lives, their due rights. We have been engaged in this effort for the past 23 years. In parallel with the growth of our country and the expansion of Turkey's economic capabilities, we have projected this first and foremost on our teachers and in education. We have been working since day one to improve the quality of education, expand access to education, remove barriers to and bans on education, and ensure equal opportunities among our students. I would like to share some figures with you: In 2002, our Ministry of National Education ranked fourth in the central government budget. Starting in 2003, we allocated the top priority to education. We have maintained this priority in the 2026 budget as well. We have allocated TL1 trillion 944 billion to the Ministry of National Education for 2026,” President Erdoğan said.
