“We need to manage our cities in line with the spirit of the Century of Türkiye”

Speaking at the Local Administrations Consultation and Assessment Meeting of the AK Party, President Erdoğan said: “I would like to underline once again that we need to manage our cities in line with the spirit of the Century of Türkiye.”

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Local Administrations Consultation and Assessment Meeting of the AK Party in the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara.

“Let me note that it is our humble and amateur spirit that has endeared us to our nation in the past 22 years,” President Erdoğan said. “We have reached these days by preserving and further strengthening this spirit.”

“We will continue to act in this spirit and serve our people for many years to come. We, as the government and the headquarters, have received and understood the message our nation gave on March 31. And we are doing our assessments accordingly. That message is also addressed to you. You will keep the pulse of our people, listen to their criticism. You will identify areas of discontent and address them,” President Erdoğan said.

Underlining that every day is a new day, a new beginning, President Erdoğan said: “Our politics and political culture are based on this renewal, this fresh spirit. We are born anew every day.”

“WE WILL MAKE OUR CITIES EARTHQUAKE-RESISTANT”

Emphasizing that they will never allow the issue of earthquake preparedness and urban transformation to be put on the back burner, President Erdoğan said: “In order to prevent the pain and suffering we experienced on February 6 from happening again, we will make our cities earthquake-resistant with all our strength and all our means. I would like to underline once again that we need to manage our cities in line with the spirit of the Century of Türkiye. It is of utmost importance that we attach importance to the Zero Waste Project, which has become a global brand, not only for the protection of nature, but also for the efficient use of our resources. I want each and every one of you to support the Zero Waste Project with sincerity. I expect all our mayors to write a success story in their cities, districts and towns.”
