President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the Debut of 2030 Industry and Technology Strategy at the Presidential Complex.
“WE HOPE TO ESTABLISH AN INDUSTRIAL ECOSYSTEM WHERE INDUSTRIAL GOODS ARE MANUFACTURED IN A MORE EFFICIENT AND MORE COMPETITIVE WAY”
President Erdoğan said: “The current global conjuncture bodes a new era in which predictable and independent development models come to the fore. We determine all our strategies according to this fact. We aim to enter the upcoming period of a new struggle, which will shape the next century, in a fully prepared and planned manner. It is with this understanding that we have drafted up the 2030 Industry and Technology Strategy document in line with our National Technology Initiative vision. We thereby hope to establish an industrial ecosystem where industrial goods are manufactured in a more efficient and more competitive way. We want to maximize our technological independence, ensuring that Türkiye both generates technology and becomes a leading country in the manufacturing and export of high-tech products.”
Drawing attention to Türkiye’s achievements in technology, President Erdoğan stated: “With the strides we have made over the past 23 years in technology and defense industry, our country has assumed an influential role in global power balances. Our unmanned aerial vehicles, which have changed defense paradigms, make us proud. Our fifth generation fighter KAAN is in the skies. Our first-ever electric and smart automobile TOGG is on the roads.”
“WE HAVE COME TO A LEADING POSITION IN NUMEROUS STRATEGIC AREAS AND PRODUCTS”
President Erdoğan went on: “With our national space programme, we have carried out our first-ever manned space mission. We have sent our first national communication satellite TÜRKSAT 6-A, 80 percent of which was built through domestic means, to space, thereby featuring among the 11 countries worldwide capable of producing a communication satellite. We have consolidated our country’s presence in the polar regions by conducting 9 scientific expeditions to Antarctica and 4 to the Arctic. Through TEKNOFESTs, we have facilitated the participation of millions of young people in our country’s journey of technology development. With technoparks, R&D and design centers, we have built Türkiye’s innovation ecosystem almost from scratch.”
President Erdoğan added: “We have supported our country’s production infrastructure with strong incentives for investment. We have come to a leading position in numerous strategic areas and products. Our responsibility toward our nation necessitates us to run after greater ideals and gain a permanent leadership in global economy. The 2030 Industry and Technology Strategy has been prepared as a part of this grand vision.”
