“We will always protect our eternal brotherhood symbolized by Çanakkale”
Speaking at the State Commendation Medal Conferment Ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “Çanakkale is an epic history that describes what kind of a nation we are. We will always protect our eternal and everlasting brotherhood symbolized by Çanakkale, and walk all together towards the future in the footsteps of our martyrs.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech during the State Commendation Medal Conferment Ceremony at Çankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara.
Stating that the medals that will be conferred during the ceremony are just the symbols of the state’s gratitude towards martyrs’ relatives and ghazis, President Erdoğan said: “The places of our martyrs’ relatives and ghazis in the hearts of our nation are already way above any appreciation and praise. Each and every one of our martyrs, who sacrificed themselves for the sake of our country, is a torch that enlightens Türkiye’s path. I once again wish Allah’s mercy upon our martyrs, and extend my condolences to their relatives and our nation.”
Stressing that today also marks the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, one of the brightest pages of the Turkish history, President Erdoğan said: “Çanakkale is an epic history that describes what kind of a nation we are. With Allah’s permission, no one will be able to build walls of blood and tears between us as long as the martyrs of our country and of all across our beloved geography, from Syria to Gaza, lie next to each other in Çanakkale. We will always protect our eternal and everlasting brotherhood symbolized by Çanakkale, and walk all together towards the future in the footsteps of our martyrs. As the grandchildren of Çanakkale martyrs, we will not be daunted in the face of challenges, we will not back down against attacks, we will not bow down to threats or blackmails, we will be on the alert for imperialists’ games, and we will not allow our will to co-exist to be undermined.”
