“We will continue to work selflessly for the peace and prosperity of the entire Türkiye”
In a message he issued for the new year, President Erdoğan said: “As has been the case for the past 23 years, we will serve the entire 86 million with love, solely for the nation and the homeland, in our hearts, and will continue to work selflessly for the peace, tranquility and prosperity of the entire Türkiye. In 2026, as well, we will produce works not words; we will engage in actions rather than polemics, and will continue to speak through our projects and investments.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a new year message:
“My august nation, I greet you all with love and respect from the bottom of my heart. Today, we are seeing off 2025 and welcoming 2026 with new expectations, hopes, and goals. I wish for the new Gregorian year to usher in auspicious developments for our country, our nation, our kindred geography and for all humanity.
I remember with grace all our martyrs who lost their lives either fighting against drug dealers and city thugs or fighting for the security and permanence of our state. On behalf of myself and my nation, I extend my gratitude to each one of our ghazis who paid a heavy price for the peace and wellbeing of the 86 million.
“TÜRKİYE IS MAINTAINING ITS BLESSED JOURNEY WITH RESOLVE”
Both in our country and across the world, significant developments have occurred throughout the year we are about to leave behind. Led by competent and experienced cadres, Türkiye is maintaining its blessed journey with resolve despite an environment of escalating wars, crises and tensions in our region.
We are witnessing, across a wide spectrum, the favorable outcomes of our economic program, in the implementation of which we remain steadfast. As our Central Banks’ reserves are consolidating concurrently with an ongoing disinflation process, we are also upshifting in employment and exports. We are breaking records after records in many areas from tourism to defense industry.
We believe that our “500,000-Unit Social Housing Project,” whose first draws were held two days ago, will let our low-income citizens own a home under very favorable terms while also helping deflate the bubble in housing prices and rents. We intend to crown our achievements in economy with new reforms this year. With the support of our National Assembly, we will inshallah implement step by step the Century of Türkiye Reform Program, which we unveiled during our grand congress.
“WE HAVE MANAGED TO REVIVE OUR CITIES”
Healing the wounds of the February 6 Disaster of the Century has been our government’s top priority throughout 2025. Even if we cannot bring back to life the lives we lost, we have managed to revive our cities along with their infrastructure, squares, green areas, and public amenities as well as their historical and cultural fabric.
Just as we had promised, we handed over the key of the 455,000th post-disaster house to its eligible owner on December 27 in Hatay, with the participation of our over 100,000 brothers and sisters. I wish for the new homes and workplaces to be auspicious for the victims of the earthquake.
I would like to thank all my brothers and sisters who have been working 24/7 at construction sites since February 6, without regard to the cold of winter and heat of summer, as well as all our institutions and philanthropists that contributed to the construction of the houses. And those who denigrate, rather than give shoulder to, every effort undertaken, I invite them to Hatay and our other cities hit by the quake to see on site our state’s achievements. From now as well, we, as the government and the alliance, will keep all our promises, never letting down our nation.
“WE WILL NOT ABANDON OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHOSE FACES ARE TURNED TOWARD OUR COUNTRY”
We will not abandon not only our own citizens, but also any of our brothers and sisters whose faces are turned toward our country. The repercussions of our justice- and conscience-centered politics are seen all across our region, particularly in Syria and Gaza. In our neighbor Syria, which obtained its freedom with the December 8 Revolution, recovery has sped up and significant distance has been covered on the path to political stability.
As the environment of peace has taken hold in Syria, voluntary returns have also intensified, with our 600,000 Syrian guests returning home last year. We believe that a strong Syria with political unity and territorial integrity will make unique contributions to both its surroundings and the world. As Türkiye, we will provide the new administration with the necessary support for the peace and security of the Syrian people, without any distinction of Arab, Kurd, Turkmen, Sunni, Shia, or Nusayri.
The ceasefire that was reached in Gaza with our contributions still holds thanks to the common sense of our Gazan brothers and sisters, despite Israel’s violations. We are making intensive efforts for the cessation of Israel’s attacks, for faster delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and for the launch of reconstruction works. We will not back down or fall silent, nor will we allow the genocide to be forgotten, until those who martyrized our 71,000 brothers and sisters, mostly children and women, are brought to justice.
We are also maintaining our initiatives for the immediate termination of the Russia-Ukraine war, which is about to enter its fifth year, with a just and lasting peace.
We are closely monitoring the expanding provocations and threats against the interests of our country and the Turkish Cypriot people in the Eastern Mediterranean. I, hereby, would like to once again underscore that we will never, ever tolerate faits accomplis, theft, or banditry in the Blue Homeland.
“WE HAVE LEFT BEHIND CRITICAL MILESTONES IN THE TERROR-FREE TÜRKİYE PROCESS”
We have left behind critical milestones in the Terror-Free Türkiye process, which will open a new chapter not only for our country but also for our region. Throughout this process, we, as the People’s Alliance, have always taken a constructive approach, focusing on the solution and committing ourselves fully.
The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, which listens to all parties carefully, will soon give shape to its final report, which we think will give a fresh breath to the process. We hope the Commission will keep acting in a spirit of reconciliation in the final stretch, as well.
This process, which is aimed at ridding our country of a 40-year-long scourge, should never be sacrificed for daily political considerations. We, for our part, will not shy away from doing whatever it takes to make sure the process reaches its final destination without any road accident.
As has been the case for the past 23 years, we will serve the entire 86 million with love, solely for the nation and the homeland, in our hearts, and will continue to work selflessly for the peace, tranquility and prosperity of the entire Türkiye.
In 2026, as well, we will produce works not words; we will engage in actions rather than polemics, and will continue to speak through our projects and investments. May my Lord help and guide us.
