“We will not allow a new order, whose borders will be drawn with blood, to be established in our region”

Addressing 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, President Erdoğan said: “Israel’s claim that it will establish an order in our region with its bloody hands demonstrates what a blindness and darkness those governing that country are in. I hereby strongly point out that we as Türkiye will never allow the establishment of a new Sykes–Picot order whose borders will be drawn with blood in our region.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.

“ISRAEL CONTINUES TO DRAG OUR REGION INTO INSTABILITY”

Drawing attention to Israel’s policies of occupation, destruction and massacre, President Erdoğan said: “Israel, which is backed by the unconditional support of Western powers, continues to drag our region into instability. They have attacked Gaza and the West Bank first, and turned Gaza into a huge wreck before the eyes of the entire world. They have bombed healthcare facilities, schools, mosques and churches. They have recklessly massacred people waiting in the aid line to get a bag of flour, a bowl of soup, or a dry loaf of bread. Hundreds of civilian innocents, most of them children and women, are intentionally martyrized by Israeli forces each day. Our two million brothers and sisters living in Gaza have been endeavoring to survive under harsh conditions that are worse than even Nazi’s concentration camps.”

“NETANYAHU GOVERNMENT IS THE ONLY OBSTACLE BEFORE REGIONAL PEACE”

Pointing to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and most recently on Iran, President Erdoğan noted: “With these attacks, the Netanyahu government has once again proven that they are the only obstacle before regional peace. I condemn in the strongest manner Israel’s attacks on Iran, and extend on behalf of my country and nation my condolences for our Iranian brothers and sisters who have lost their lives during Israel’s terror attacks, bombardments and assassinations. We have no doubt that the Iranian people, with their thousands-year-old history, their solidarity against challenges and with their strong statecraft, will inshallah overcome these days as well.”

“IT IS NOTEWORTHY THAT THE ATTACKS ARE TAKING PLACE AMID NUCLEAR NEGOTIATIONS”

Describing Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and recently on Iran as banditry, President Erdoğan stated that the measures Iran has been taking in the face of Israel’s state terror are totally natural, legitimate and legal, and added: “It is obvious that these aggressive acts, which violate international law, serve the strategic destabilization policy Israel pursue in the region. It is definitely noteworthy that the attacks take place in a period when negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear programme have intensified. It is a great hypocrisy that Israel, which is subjected to no control over its nuclear works, and which does not pay heed to anyone in terms of transparency, has anything to say to others that are party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The Netanyahu government in fact aimed to undermine the negotiation process with its attacks on June 13.”

“ISRAEL SEEKS TO SPREAD THE WAR TO THE ENTIRE REGION”

Further stressing that the ongoing incidents show that Netanyahu and his gang of murderers do not want any problem to be solved through diplomatic means, President Erdoğan said that instead of living next to an independent and territorially-integrated state of Palestine within the 1967 borders, with East al-Quds as its capital, Israel seeks to spread the war to the entire region, and went on to say: “Those assuming they can establish their security by drowning the region in fire, conflicts, chaos and tears pursue a pipe dream. Israel cannot ensure its own  security by threatening the security of its neighbors.”

“WE WILL NEVER BOW DOWN TO THE STATE TERROR IN WEST BANK”

“Israel’s claim that it will establish an order in our region with its bloody hands demonstrates what a blindness and darkness those governing that country are in. I hereby strongly point out that we as Türkiye will never allow the establishment of a new Sykes–Picot order whose borders will be drawn with blood in our region. We will never bow down to the punishment of the Gazan people with hunger, the state and settler terror in West Bank, and to the attempts aimed at destroying the historical status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds, which is the cradle of divine religions,” President Erdoğan added.

“OUR REGION CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER WAR”

Calling on to the international community, especially the countries which have influence over Israel, to not pay heed to Netanyahu’s poisonous rhetoric, President Erdoğan said: “Our region cannot afford another war and instability. What we need is common sense, caution and to not make a mistake of righting a wrong with even a bigger wrong. I point out hereby once again that diplomacy and dialogue are the paths to resolution, and that we stand ready to do what falls to us, including acting as a facilitator.”

“WE SHOULD CONTINUE TO URGE MORE COUNTRIES TO RECOGNIZE THE PALESTINIAN STATE”

“We should continue to urge more countries to recognize the Palestinian State, and maintain in coordination our initiatives aimed at taking compulsory measures against Israel on the bases of international law and United Nations resolution. We also wish that the Saudi Arabia-led international conference, which was planned to be held this week in New York to improve the two-state solution but was postponed due to the latest attacks, is held as soon as possible. I wish Saudi Arabia success in advance with its initiative,” President Erdoğan noted.

“SYRIAN PEOPLE NOW LOOK TO THEIR FUTURE MORE HOPEFULLY”

Voicing his pleasure over Syria returning to its membership to the OIC, President Erdoğan continued as follows: “The magnificent victory  our Syrian brothers and sisters have won by giving hundreds of thousands of martyrs has opened the doors of a new era. Thanks be to Allah, the Syrian people now look to their future more hopefully in every term. As Türkiye we will continue to increase our multidimensional support to this country in order for it to stand up on its own feet. Syria needs the support of all of us, that is the support of the entire Islamic world, in order for it to preserve its territorial integrity and national unity, and to find lasting stability. I wholeheartedly believe that all the member countries will provide Syria with the necessary contribution.”

President Erdoğan also called on the OIC member countries to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) both materially and morally, and voiced his expectation that they foil Israel’s games.
