“We will realize our ideal of a terror-free Türkiye”
Speaking at the Administrators’ Day event in Ankara, President Erdoğan underscored that they have started to reap the fruits, at home and abroad, of their strategy to eliminate terror at its source, and said: “We will inshallah realize our ideal of a terror-free Türkiye by using all the means of our state. We will selflessly work with you until we make the Century of Türkiye also the century of brotherhood, development and peace.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at an event held at the Presidential Complex for the Administrators’ Day.
“THE PICTURE ON THE GROUND IS A LOT WORSE THAN WHAT IS ESTIMATED”
Drawing attention to the ongoing important developments in the region, President Erdoğan stated that a new era has begun in Syria with the collapse of the 61-year-long Baath dictatorship and the termination of the 13-year-long massacre, and said: “Almost every day we come across with reports that are embarrassing and terrifying in the name of humanity and humanitarian values. The 13-year-long policy of massacre has cost this country over 500 billion dollars, let alone casualties. Our teams that have visited Syria explain that the picture on the ground is a lot worse than what is estimated. The physical infrastructure as well as the economic and social order should be thoroughly rejuvenated in order to rebuild Syria.”
“WE WILL MANAGE VOLUNTARY, SAFE AND ORGANIZED RETURNS”
Stating that besides the support of the Arab and the Islamic world, the international community’s contribution is also of utmost importance in order for Syria to recover itself, President Erdoğan pointed out that Türkiye is making its plans within the framework of these facts.
Noting that Türkiye has been embracing the oppressed Syrians, who fled from the war and oppression, for 13 years, President Erdoğan went on to say: “Just as we have hosted our Syrian brothers and sisters for 13 years, we will act with the same sensitivity in the upcoming period as well. We will manage the voluntary, safe and organized returns with an understanding that befits us, our history, our faith and culture. No matter what the opposition or racist circles say, we will not display such approaches that would damage our economy, trade, production and 13-year-long humanitarian policy.”
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO EXTEND A HELPING HAND TO OUR SYRIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS”
“As I have stated several times before, we will provide our Syrian brothers and sisters, who want to return to their homeland, with any kind of support. However, we will not make such a mistake of forcibly sending anyone, either. We will continue to extend a helping hand to our Syrian brothers and sisters, who want to contribute to our country, and who are adding economical, social and cultural richness to us. Every step we are taking during this process is aimed at protecting the rights of our Syrian brothers and sisters as well as our nation’s interests.”
Pointing to the new administration in Syria, President Erdoğan said that the future of Syria will be shaped around the founding will to be displayed by this administration, and added: “We will maintain our relations with Syria on the basis of mutual respect. As a requirement of our neighborly relations, we will fulfill all the responsibilities that fall to us for the restoration of Syria’s territorial integrity and political unity.”
“A HISTORIC WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY HAS BEEN OPENED BEFORE OUR COUNTRY”
“We have started to reap the fruits, at home and abroad, of our strategy to eliminate terror at its source,” President Erdoğan further stressed, and said: “We now maintain this with new means and methods. Our aim is to eliminate for good this 40-year-old burden laid on our country’s back. A historic window of opportunity has been opened before our country and the region with the Syrian revolution. We will inshallah realize our ideal of a terror-free Türkiye by using all the means of our state. We will selflessly work with you until we make the Century of Türkiye also the century of brotherhood, development and peace.”
