Speaking after an iftar dinner with undergraduates, President Erdoğan said: “We will hold those who violate laws to account within the legal framework. We will repel attacks on our democracy by remaining within legitimate boundaries.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech after an iftar dinner with university students in Ankara.

President Erdoğan said: “We are going through days when we need to bolster our eternal brotherhood, not animosity, enmity, or anger. We are going through very sensitive days when we need to act with patience, wisdom, commonsense and rationality. We will not fall for provocations. We will not succumb to incitements. We will never allow ourselves to be overtaken by anger. We will never take dark paths that can lead to devastation. We will never be deceived by the cheap politics of cowards hiding behind the youth to conceal their dirt. We will never be a pawn, a puppet, or an extra in the despicable plots of fraudsters who cannot look the hundreds of thousands of youth, whose rights they have usurped, in the face. We will hold those who violate laws to account within the legal framework. We will repel attacks on our democracy by remaining within legitimate boundaries.”
