President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan attended the key delivery ceremony of the 250 thousandth post-quake house in the Azerbaycan neighborhood of Kahramanmaraş.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan voiced his pleasure over hosting President Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Kahramanmaraş, and said that one of the most concrete examples of the common fate Türkiye and Azerbaijan share is the post-quakes houses whose keys they are about to deliver.

Stating that Azerbaijan was one of the countries which rushed the help of Türkiye during that trying period, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will never forget the Azerbaijani people’s solidarity, and added: “The ‘Azerbaijan Neighborhood’ is our one of the most valuable project areas. This neighborhood, which collapsed during the earthquake, is now standing up on its feet with Azerbaijan’s support.”

Sharing the number of the houses and workplaces that will be delivered after the drawing ceremony to be held, President Erdoğan said that their goal is to complete the construction of 453 thousand independent sections by the end of 2025, and went on to say: “We have invested over TL2 trillion in the earthquake zone. We have allocated 584 billion liras’ worth of resources from our 2025 budget to completely remove the traces of the disaster of the century. We aim to revive all our cities and not leave a single story unfinished by the end of this year.”

Later on, President Erdoğan and President Aliyev visited Haydar Aliyev Primary School opened in the neighborhood.
